I am so sad to hear this news - although I suspected for some time now that this cancer might take him I wasn’t sure if indeed it had or when that would ever be - he was so guarded in relation to his condition and we hadn’t spoken recently- I guess Willie being who he was didn’t want to “bother” anyone (as if he would), or be bothered .. maybe? I came across a funeral quote attributed to a famous historical figure recently - it said - “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” To my mind that is so apt with regard to Willie. He tried to and did live his life to the full in the best way he could, he was full of life and he loved and was loved by all his friends and will never be forgotten.
