I used to chuckle when Willie regularly messaged me to double check that certain advertised sessions were on in the bar. I came to expect his messages. "Yes Tim o'Learys session is going ahead on Friday. Please come along and join in Willie."

And sure enough there he would be. Quite often he'd turn up a few hours early to check that all was ok for the session. Then go off to Sandy Bells and return to Captain's at the start of the session. He was always enthusiastic and fun and I love to see people enjoying themselves playing in the sessions which he always did.

He was a big help to me when I first opened the bar. He introduced me to some lovely people and was always keen for us to participate in the "Festival of Ireland" which we did.

His enthusiasm and energy made him special and his love for playing was a joy.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed in our wee place.
